Anyone wishing to visit Gangjeong, Jeju is definetly welcome! It’s easy to get to Gangjeong from anywhere on Jeju Island. Due to government oppression on visitors it is best to be vague with your plans and tell us you have arrived once you are here.

 

Airport Limousine Bus #600

From Jeju International Airport

Go to Exit Gate 5 and find the “Airport Limousine Bus” or bus #600. It costs KRW 4500 and takes approximately 1 hour. Station announcements are in English, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Korean. Get off at “Gangjeong”. Buses leave every 15-20 minutes.

From Jeju City

Go to “The Hotel” (hotel name) and find the bus stop for  the “Airport Limousine Bus” or bus #600. It costs KRW 4500 and takes approximately 1 hour. Station announcements are in English, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Korean. Get off at “Gangjeong”. Alternatively you can also go to the airport and take the bus as described above. Buses leave every 15-20 minutes.

From Jungmun

The Airport Limousine Bus (#600) stops at most 5-star hotels. It also stops directly in front of the Jungmun Convention Center. It costs KRW 1300 and takes about 10 minutes to arrive in Gangjeong. Station announcements are in English, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Korean. Get off at “Gangjeong”. Buses leave every 15-20 minutes.

From Seogwipo City

The Airport Limousine Bus (#600) stops at several places in Seogwipo, such as Seogwipo KAL Hotel, Gyeongnam Hotel, World Cup Stadium/E-Mart. It takes about 10-15 minutes to arrive in Gangjeong. Station announcements are in English, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Korean. Get off at “Gangjeong”. Buses leave every 15-20 minutes.

Once You Get off the Bus

Gangjeong Peace Center

The bus stops in front of Gangjeong Church. Across the street you will see a Family Mart convenience store. Once you get off the bus, walk in the direction the bus was going around 100 meters. You will come to a small four way intersection. On your left you will see a Kosa Mart convenience store and on your right a Nadul Kagae convenience store. Also at the intersection is a white one-story building with many flags and banners and probably people. This is the Gangjeong Peace Center. Go inside to get a map of Gangjeong, newsletters, brochures and other things. Someone should be inside to meet you and orient you as well.
