On September 2, 2011, hundreds of riot police converged on Gangjeong at dawn. All roads were blocked and the entire city was in lock down. The townspeople and activists rushed to the Samgeori protest site, the last open path to get the precious Gureombi Rock. In an action that lasted all day and found 45 people arrested for nonviolent resistance, The police and construction companies colluded to seal off the path to Gureombi and finish the giant and ugly wall surrounding the base construction site.
