The Gangjeong vlllage praying ceremony to Sea God for the harmony of citizens, the unification of society, and the peace and hope of Gangjeong was held by Buddhist group on December 13th, 2012.

Gangjeong is a farming and fishing village. The ceremony to Sea God is held traditionally in the fishing village like Gangjeong for the security of the fishermen and for the prosperity of the fishery. But this time, the Buddhist Group chose to have the ceremony for Sea God in Gangjeong village especially because the destruction of community in Gangjeong by the naval base issue ironically represents the reality of the Korea society.

Thus, the Sea God ceremony this time is not only for the security and prosperity but for the harmony, unification, peace and hope of Gangjeong village and the Korea society.
